About this movie

Motivated by his experience with backbiting neighbors, an independent filmmaker explores the concept of gossip with people whose lives have been touched by it. Subject 1 is the filmmaker himself, who also serves as Narrator. A shy half-blind man, a massage therapist, and a social media influencer round out the cast. Through a series of raw, reflexive, interconnected interviews, Subject 1 attempts to get to the cause of gossip, its effects on the self and other people. Putting together the thoughts and observations of his interviewees, he attempts to explain gossip with an interaction model of communication. Toward the end he comes up with another question: Can we use gossip in a positive way to help people?
