Loosely based on Jörg Steiner's «DER KOLLEGE» tells the story of the unemployed MAX PLÜSS. He moved to Biel more than 45 years ago. Today, Plüss learns that he has been «taxed out» and has to apply for social welfare. This surprises him, but does not depress him - despite the winter, cold and high fog. Plüss is a quiet man, careful not to be noticed in the hustle and bustle of the city. This makes him a precise observer of events that do not catch the eye of the casual observer. Plüss loves two things: his Minox, which accompanies him constantly, and Robert Walser, who comes to mind just as he is standing «taxed out» on Central Plaza. Plüss' alter ego, his colleague, on the other hand, seeks exposure. He constantly comments on the world and thus spoils Plüss' mood, sarcastically or even cynically. Unlike Plüss, the latter could not bear unemployment and drowned himself in the lake. Since then, he emerges unasked from Plüss' subconscious and interferes in his life.
