On screen, they're Kuku and Chiki, the beloved, pastel-painted mascots of Playland, a sparkly kids' show about kindness and cooperation. Off screen, they're Melody and Danny, a crumbling couple clinging to caffeine, grudges, and a dying marriage held together by contractual obligation. Each take demands joy; each cut reveals decay. As studio pressure mounts and resentment simmers beneath their cartoon smiles, one final blowout pushes them past the breaking point. But when the cameras keep rolling, unbeknownst to them, their private collapse becomes the most raw, riveting performance of their careers. Steve Ogg co-stars as the brash Hollywood executive pulling the strings behind the scenes, a chaotic force whose presence only accelerates the unraveling.
