Set in a world where the line between truth and illusion is razor thin, The New Era follows a lone man trapped in the decaying confines of a dimly lit room, his only companion an ancient television set. The broadcast seems harmless at first - flickering static, fragmented images, cryptic advertisements - but the longer he watches, the more the screen reflects a twisted reality, one that feels personal, targeted, and suffocating. As the images grow darker, they replay moments of society's manipulation, the emptiness of modern distractions, and the erosion of human connection. Tension builds until his frustration boils over, and he violently attacks the television, shattering the glass in an explosion of sound and sparks. But victory is short-lived. From the broken screen emerges a strange pull, a hypnotic force that drags him toward it. Shadows and glitching visuals envelop him, swallowing his body until he is completely absorbed into the television's endless void. Inside, reality as he knew it ceases to exist, replaced by a surreal, liminal realm where identity is stripped away and freedom is nothing more than another illusion. A symbolic, psychological short film blending visual storytelling, atmospheric music, and surreal imagery, The New Era explores themes of control, rebellion, and the terrifying seduction of the very forces we try to escape.
