Michele lives in a small town in the central Apennines. He walks through the woods, believes in justice, and fights his daily battles. Until an unexpected encounter leads him down a dangerous path, forcing him to confront his nature, his limits, and a question: are we masters of our choices, or prisoners of them? Olga is as rigid as a soldier and as nurturing as the stereotype of a mother; she draws him in but wants to protect him. Jenner is a ruthless criminal with a dark, magnetic charm; he threatens, flatters, and tries to win him over. Elena is sharp, provocative, and determined; she helps him, hinders him, seduces him, and challenges him. Michele realizes that deciding to kill a man is not as simple as he thought-but he refuses to give in to himself.
