The movie follows the Mandalorian 3 years ago as he accepts a deal that he doesn't fully understand, but it frees him from serving a long sentence in prison. Now, in the present, the Mandalorian is going after warlords and mobsters before receiving a message from a friend to come to the town of Sterlos. As he arrives, he meets his old friend Gordon, someone he used to do heists with. Gordon presents a heist idea to The Mandalorian. Their goal is to steal a very expensive 'magic' book from a federation-owned base. They begin their journey and eventually get the book. On the way back to their town, The Mandalorian opens the book, and it grabs him and pulls him in, telling him something before putting him back. When they return, they encounter the town destroyed over overrun by federation-owned bases. They go on the run and encounter Volzad, who then captures the Mandalorian and brings him to his fortress, where he explains that the book has almost infinite power, and opening the book and the book speaking to it has now shared the power between them. Volzad shares how he intends to use the power within the book to change the world for the worse. As the Mandalorian escapes, the rest of the movie follows as the Mandalorian understands what his deal was about, and he tries to stop Volzad from completing his goal of changing the world.
