On a quiet park bench between two trees, Wishing Trees tells a poetic tale of connection, loss, and renewal. When a young girl and her grandfather place a heartfelt wish on a Japanese maple tree, it sets off a chain of emotional events rooted in the growing bond between the maple and an old cherry blossom tree. As seasons pass, the trees form a deep underground connection, quietly supporting each other and the people who visit them. But when grief overwhelms the girl, she destroys the maple tree in sorrow, only for nature to gently begin again with the help of a passing jay. Through shifting seasons and silent support, Wishing Trees is a wordless animated short about healing, memory, and the quiet strength of life.
