Now 28, Ebunola avoids emotional entanglements, pouring her passion into her art while keeping everyone, especially men, at a distance. When Jerry, a kind and persistent admirer, enters her life, he is determined to break down the walls around her heart. For six months, he tries to win her over, refusing to accept her rejection without understanding the reason behind it. Eventually, Ebunola opens up, revealing the trauma that has haunted her for nearly two decades. But even in her honesty, she insists she is incapable of love-too damaged, too hardened by her past to feel anything but distance. Jerry, believing love can still bloom, pleads for a chance.
