Siobahn 'Shiv' Chase is a typical avoidant lesbian who is not-so secretly in love with her best friend Alanna. Meanwhile Alanna just got engaged to a man she not-so-secretly fights with every day but also fulfilled her lifelong dream of having a puppy. Entrusted with organizing the bachelorette Shiv faces the possibility of losing her best friend and the love of her life forever. Spurred by her avoidant tendencies she is led to a 'progressive' stripper who provides both philosophical and physical tips. His name? The Tip. When the Tip arrives all goes well until Alanna is bluntly hit over the head with the fact that her husband to be never takes accountability. Shiv's plan comes crashing down when Alanna has locked herself in the bathroom in tears. As her best friend, Shiv is the only one who can coax her out, which means taking her own accountability her indirect address of Alanna's attempt at happiness. Through a bathroom door and an audience of party guests, Shiv finally owns her plan but not her true desires thus mending mending their friendship and Alanna's denial of her fiancé's dickery. The night ends with the engagement being called off, their friendship being renew alongside Shiv's hopes for love and someone being left to pay the Tip.
