Senior police lieutenant Alyona Bogudarskaya is happily married to Aleksey. The only thing that mars their happiness is the absence of children. Because of this, her husband's mother considers her unworthy of her son. At work, Alyona deals with domestic offenses, but one of the usual "minor" cases becomes serious. She comes across a gang that robs pensioners. One of the criminals was caught, but she let the leader escape, considering this exclusively her own failure.
