High in the mountains of Dagestan is the village of Kubachi, famous for its blacksmiths and goldsmiths. The memory of its former heritage is preserved in a small museum of the Kubachi Art Combine. Nowadays, the combine is almost out of business, but the craftsmen have not abandoned their craft and continue to work in their home workshops, collectively creating works of art. In the village, there are many areas of goldsmithing and the craftsmen divide the work among themselves, each doing their part of the work on the product. But the experience of ancestors can be lost, and in the village, a new generation of future craftsmen is trained and educated. In the school camp "Zerikhgeran", the teacher of labor Said teaches children the basics of creating Kubachi ornaments and engraving, and the teacher passes on to the children knowledge of their unique native Kubachi language. Life in the village is serene and unhurried, unlike in big cities, residents often spend time outside doing handicrafts. But not everything is so cloudless in the life of the village. Death came to the streets of the village and brought with it a thick and heavy fog. All the men in Kubachi gathered at the cemetery to say goodbye to the departed master. But his work will continue, the children are learning more and more about blacksmithing and now their works are presented in the school jewelry museum. In the morning, fresh bread is baked for the children and served to them on the table in the camp. Carefree childhood continues, the children happily play football, and on the streets you can hardly meet adults, mostly old people and children. But the depopulation of the village does not worry the schoolchildren yet, and they spend their time happily, not even suspecting that they are the future of the village of Kubachi, they are the keepers of traditions and crafts.
