After almost ten years without any contact, Jesús Pamplona decides to reconstruct the image of her former roommate and friend, Paloma. It is a difficult task, since their friendship is full of silences, lies, and absences. Gradually we will learn about a criminal past that begins with drug dealing in Colombia and continues with the birth of "La Negra" in Amsterdam: a top-level drug trafficker who made it to the list of the five most wanted women by Interpol. To hide herself and avoid capture, she looked for the place of an unwary guy. She found Jesús Pamplona. Paloma Negra: Queen of Amphetamines narrates the experiences of Jesús and Paloma during six years of close friendship (or deception). It tells the escape of Beatriz Elena Henao (her real name), not only from justice but also from a fate of misery to which she seemed condemned. It tells about her downfall and its consequences for her dysfunctional family. An intentionally ambiguous portrait, equidistant between naïve and malicious, which invites the audience to decide to which extent they want to believe the lukewarm explanations of "La negra" Divided by chapters, like a strange tale-to which its illustrations also contribute-the film is also a recreation of a world difficult to understand for the middle-class European citizen's mindset.
