In this dark comedy of personal growth, anxious Nelly craves a quick fix to find inner peace. Suspicious of the world around her, yet driven to please, she awkwardly stumbles through life. But when a miscommunication is messily mishandled, Nelly has a blood-soaked breakthrough that sends her down an unconventional path to advocating for herself at any cost-creepy neighbors, sleazy baristas, and cloying coworkers beware. As the sugar rush from Nelly's savage self-care binge takes hold, her intrusive thoughts blur into surreal reality, and a manic mascot becomes her chaotic north star. Cereal is a bite-sized fever dream that gives us a taste of what can happen when we suppress our own needs in order to appease, and how setting boundaries can set us free.
