Christmas. The most family-oriented time of the year. And your boyfriend decides this is the time to surprise you by flying halfway around the world to meet your family for the first time. That's where SHANAYA finds herself this Christmas in Colombo as RICK, on his first ever trip abroad, must try and win over the whole family. Whether being cornered on a boat for a disastrous fishing trip by her Dad, CHAMINDA, being caught by HARSHANI, the sister, in a compromising situation with an ex-girlfriend, or being led astray (Arrack, anyone?) by PAMU, the wayward brother, Rick has barely beaten the jet-lag when his world is turned upside down. As their relationship starts to feel the strain, Rick and Shanaya realise that its not just their different cultures that divide them. Can a young couple in love survive the odds - and an out of control game of beach cricket- to find true love at Christmas? Will the family ever accept Rick is good enough for their beloved Shanaya? Shot on location in stunning Sri Lanka, this culture clash rom-com will have audiences rooting for our young protagonists, laughing at the ridiculous situations Rick ends up in, and feeling uplifted as the different, fully realised stories of all these wonderful characters ultimately resolve into a happy Christmas Day filled with acceptance, redemption and love.
